Dr. Amanda Alford joined Southern Oregon Anesthesia in 2006 after serving in the US Air Force as a staff anesthesiologist at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. She is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists, the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and the International Association of Counselors and Therapists in Hypnotherapy. She currently serves as the compliance officer for AAM, auditing charts and providing education to ensure complete documentation and appropriate billing for anesthetic services. She is an avid birder and sits on the Board of Directors of the Klamath Bird Observatory.

Steve enjoys the wide variety of anesthesia care that he can be involved in here in the Rogue Valley. He has a particular interest in cardiothoracic anesthesia and has pursued additional training in this area. In his free time, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, rearranging his yard with the tractor, and creating things in the wood shop. So far, all original ten fingers are still attached.

Steven Cannon, MD

Dr. Steven Cannon joined Southern Oregon Anesthesia in 2002 and is board-certified. In addition to a residency and board certification in Anesthesiology, he completed a fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia and is board certified in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE). TEE is a technique for using ultrasound imaging to diagnose problems with the heart muscle and valves during cardiac and other complex surgery.
Dr. Cannon enjoys his family, being outdoors, physics, math and learning just about anything.

Prior to joining Southern Oregon Anesthesia in 2009, Dr. Claassen worked as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology for the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Claassen is a board certified anesthesiologist in good standing. When not at work, he enjoys snowboarding, yoga, craft beer and spending time with his family.

A board-certified physician, Dr. Derek De Vry joined Southern Oregon Anesthesia in 2015. Having graduated from high school in the Rogue Valley, Dr. De Vry enjoys being back in Oregon after a 9 year hiatus. He spends his free time with friends and family as well as enjoying multiple outdoor activities offered in the region.

During her tenure at University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Dr. Gabrielsen served as Chief Resident. She enjoys cooking, reading, and exploring the natural beauty of Oregon with her family.

Marcus Rampton, MD

Marcus Rampton returned to his home-state of Oregon in 2015 after serving in the US Army for eight years as a physician and anesthesiologist. He grew up in Corvallis, attended undergraduate at Brigham Young University and medical school at the University of Rochester. He did his anesthesiology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, serving as the chief resident in his final year there. While in the Army, he deployed to Afghanistan in 2012-2013 for 7 months, helping to take care of over 1000 major trauma patients. Marcus is an avid outdoorsman, the first American to summit Mount McKinley in the year 2000 and has completed an Ironman Triathlon. He is the proud father of two children, Jack and Eliza, and his wife Rebecca is a Nurse Practitioner in the community.

Following residency she worked at the Loma Linda VA in California for 1 year, then at SUNY-Stony Brook on Long Island, NY as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology for 6 years. She enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

He was a recipient of the Wendell Stevens award for Most Outstanding Resident. Dr. Young is passionate about providing comprehensive care to cardiac and critical care patients. He spends his free time cooking and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
